The 15-foot Whaler hull is arguably the brand's perfect compromise: bigger than the legendary 13, lighter and cheaper to run than the 17 Montauk, and with enough freeboard for honest coastal use.
Over the years it wore many names — Sport, Super Sport, GLS, Sport GLS, Striper, the rare Sakonnet — each tuned for a slightly different mission. The Striper added a bow rail and rod holders for fishermen; the GLS added creature comforts; the Sport stayed deliberately simple.
For someone who wants the classic Whaler experience but needs a little more boat than the 13, the 15-foot hulls are the sweet spot of the entire used market.
